New Owners
First of all we would like to introduce ourselves,
Jill, Carl and Sarah - the new owners of this fabulous
hotel, restaurant and bar.
We moved in January 2023, our background is hospitality - having several coffee shops and a catering company in Lincoln.
After viewing the Redesdale Arms we instantly loved it, we hope
you do too!
History
The Redesdale Arms in a 16th century coaching inn, known as the "First & Last" Inn on route to Scotland and has been providing a warm welcome to visitors for centuries.
The oldest part of the building is over 600 years old and is a former bastle house - a fortified dwelling that provided defence during the late middle ages when this part of the world was known as the "Debatable Lands" - A lawless region roamed over by bands of outlaws from both sides of the border known as Border Reivers.
Today the area is a tranquil place where visitors from both sides of the border can be assured of a very warm welcome, good food and hospitality and some fabulous scenery.
First and Last
We're just 12 miles from the England Scotland Border and are the original First and Last Inn on the A68.
A great stop off point to sit and admire the wonderful scenery, you can sit outside on a lovely sunny day and just watch and listen to the wildlife. Many a traveller uses our location as a great photo opportunity.
